Here's our research on horror props that we might take as inspiration
Evil Dead Rise, 2023
(a cursed book prop)
What I like about this prop?
I like this idea of a prop because I think this would be easy to look for or even recreate it.
What I don't like about this prop?
This can be very expensive to buy and it can be time consuming to create.
Ouija, 2014
(a horror board game prop)
What I like about this prop?
The prop is very unique and can bring the realistic feel to the audience. We could also use the connection of existing childrens boardgames which can subvert our storyline.
What I don't like about this prop?
This can be very expensive to purchase these games and can be hard to create. Even if we try to make up our own game this will take longer to discuss for.
Annabelle, 2014
(a haunted doll prop)
What I like about this prop?
Most dolls can be seen creepy so this could be an easy find for us to use.
What I don't like about this prop?
Since we are all teenagers, we barely have our old dolls lying around so finding a perfect little doll for our movie might be difficult. Plus this would also be very expensive to buy since dolls like these arent commonly seen nowdays.
Our Final Decision:
book picture b4 and after
Decided to choose the book prop because we've discovered that our team member (Maisie) found herself her old witch book craft that we could use as a prop. Because the book is a very children witch book, we decided to add tape and things to cover up the "Disney" and any un-scary bits seen from the book.
