This is my Term 2 Weekly Progress

Week 1

In this week we had a brief introduction of our media class and the introduction of our project. Our teacher announced that the project was going to be about a Crime Documentary. This was very exiting because I have done some research to get the idea of documentaries.

Week 2

Throughout this week, we started with getting into our new groups that was randomised to help us get better with socialising with other people and skills. We also then had to discuss on our crime documentary topic and we chose to do a mass murder because it was unique and we wanted to challenge ourselves for future projects. 

Week 3

We started to develop our statement of intent and think of the main ideas that we are gonna do for our project. We also then did more research in class together which was used for our project research. Lastly we had a theory lesson about misinformation and protecting harmful content - Livingston & Lunt Theory.

Week 4

In this week, we started working on our location scout and risk assessment and developed our storyboard. We also then had to finish up our research and our statement of intent. In the last days of this week, we learning about the power and the media and discussed about Twitter and its power after it has been changed to X.

Week 5

In this week, we had to finish up on our storyboard and script for our documentary project. We also discussed on more media theories and had a study on Jessica Wongso and her murder case as future reference case. Since I was absent, I had to ask my teammates to summarise what they did in that week.

Week 6 

In this week, we were mostly doing project work and we decided to plan our filming time. We decided to start recording 911 calls and find places that we can film in. We also decided to recruit actors and research on effect that we can use for editing.

Week 7

This week was more towards focusing on finishing up with our recordings. There was alot of issues with timing and traffic which made our filming schedule delay alot of times. So we ended up planing for the future recording and decided to start editing with what we had, such as the 911 call recordings.

Week 8

Since I was fully absent on this week, I had to help work with my teammates through messages. This week was where my teammate had to finish up editing. Due to lack of time for shooting, we had to finish up our recordings in this week so that my teammate was able to finish up her editing.

Week 9

In this last week, this was the week where we had to finalise and submit our media work. Because I was absent, I wasn't able to do my work during classes because I was absent for 2 weeks, so I had to use my free time to finish up my work and help ask my friends for help.
